Cactus
Book coverCactus is a wonderful novel by Rodrigo Muñoz Avia that takes place in Palo Alto, California.
It follows the steps of a spanish man who, dissapointed with life, takes a summer course about cacti at the Stanford University in a desperate attempt of making sense of himself.
The long, empty roads, the absurd situations and the wacky characters he meets conform a surreal, humoristic story. Toc apture all this, I tried to create an illustration with an epic, yet unsettling and suffocating atmosphere, contrasting the dreamy, harsh clouds with the unerving stillness of the city.
